Trash, Recycling & Yard Waste

*Collection info updated 1/1/2025. Please see community by-laws & trash removal policy resolution 9801 for complete guidelines.

TRASH: Friday Morning Pick-up (J&J Trash Service)

  • Place trash cans on the sidewalk in front of your home after 7:00pm the night before collection.
  • Trash cans must be retrieved and stored inside or behind your home by 9:00pm on the day of collection.
  • Holiday Scheduling: If a holiday falls on a regular trash day, the trash will be collected on the next day. (No collection on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, MLK Jr. Day, President’s Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.)
  • Trash must be inside a rigid container with a tight-fitting lid, preferably with your house number displayed.
  • Garbage bags (without cans) are prohibited for overnight placement as this attracts animals. You are responsible to clean up any mess. If the HOA cleans your mess, you will be responsible for reimbursing the Association.
  • Free Bulk Pick-up: J&J provides free pick-up of bulk items. Requests must be scheduled in advance. Bulk does not include metal, yard waste, or any items Montgomery County will recycle. Call J&J for arrangements: 1-800-465-2350

RECYCLING: Thursday Morning Pick-up (Montgomery County, 311)

  • Place recycle bins on the sidewalk in front of your home after 7:00pm Wednesday.
  • For homes not located directly along a curbed parking area, place your recycling on the sidewalk at the nearest curbed parking area for easy access by Montgomery County.
  • Recycle bins must be retrieved and returned inside or behind your home by 9:00pm the day of collection.
  • Holiday Scheduling: If a county holiday falls during the week (Monday-Friday), all recyclecollections scheduled on or after the holiday will be made one day later that week.
  • Recycle bins should be labeled with your house number.
  • If you need a new recycle bin, or have an extra, call Montgomery County at 311 to place an order.

YARD WASTE: Thursday Morning Pick-up (Montgomery County, 311)

  • Package grass clippings, leaves & yard waste in paper bags (no plastic).
  • You may also use a specifically labeled Yard Waste trash can.
  • For county recycling guidelines, labels and other recycling questions, call Montgomery County at 311.
  • *Christmas trees are picked-up on scheduled yard waste days. Please do not put out trees before Wednesday night.
  • Please do not place trash and recycling on the community grassy areas, islands, and peninsulas.

ILLEGAL DUMPING

  • Placing bulk items such as furniture at the curb (w/out making arrangements for pick-up) will be considered illegal dumping and will be reported to the county.  Illegal dumping is charged a minimum $500 civil fine by the county.
